Velcro tan leather forearm bite sleeve/gauntlet

This item has been tested successfully by police K-9 trainers to enhance the dog’s grip and performance beyond the basic foundation training of traditional jute sleeves. It provides a more realistic look, feel and smell for the dog that may that may be utilized in training for reality. Unlike jute sleeves, the dog cannot easily sink his teeth into the material and has to bite harder and fuller to maintain a grip. Unlike most “hidden” sleeves, our Velcro attachment runs along the length of the sleeve to allow the helper to shed the sleeve quickly if needed and to provide a reward when necessary. These sleeves are not made for pursuit training, but should be used in a limited, controlled environment.  The item must be used with dogs that have a strong foundation in controlled -bite, hold and release training and must be conducted by professional K-9 trainers.

SWAT/K-9 Joint “Handler Down” – These sleeves can be used in an emergency situation when the handler can no longer control his dog due to injury or exigent circumstances. The sleeve can be stored in a vest or pack for back-up or SWAT members to carry in case of emergency. The sleeve would not have the weight or smell of a large jute sleeve that may be a distraction for the dog and a hindrance for the back-up personnel.
